Hebrews 1:1-4

“In the past, God spoke through the prophets to our ancestors in many times and many ways. In these final days, though he spoke to us through a Son. God made his Son the heir of everything and created the world through him. The Son is the light of God’s glory and the imprint of God’s being. He maintains everything with his powerful message.
After he carried out the cleansing of people from their sins, he sat down at the right side of the highest majesty. And the Son became so much greater than the other messengers, such as angels, that he received a more important title then theirs.”

And so starts the book of Hebrews (1:1-4). There is a lot of stuff here, but I was moved by the over arching theme that Jesus, the Son, is the full message of God. Maybe it’s just me, but there have been many times on my journey with God that I have felt alone. There have been times in my Christian life that I knew Jesus was real and in my life, but I simply didn’t feel his presence. However, knowing that God speaks through his Son, allows me to “hear” his voice through reading the Gospels. Whenever I’m feeling disconnected from Jesus, I am draw to the book of Matthew, Mark, Luke or John because those are the words of the Full Message of God to his people. Those books and even the book of Hebrews, is the way in which God reveals his love and commitment to me. Whenever I read the New Testament account of Jesus’ life, my heart and mind begin to once again “feel” the presence of the One who gave his live for me. So today, if you just don’t feel, hear or recognize Jesus in your moments, read the Bible. Simply turn to, click on or open an app and read what God says is his message to you. Don’t know where to start? How about John 3, Matthew 5 or Hebrews 1. It will only take a few moments to reconnect with the Message of God!
