Look at all the people!

A few years ago, Kimy and I attended a church planter’s conference in the middle of winter. We arrived during the middle of the week and were the only group in the whole Christian complex. Early Saturday morning we take the elevator down for breakfast and as soon as the doors slide open we see people… Everywhere… in every chair… at every restaurant table… Everywhere! I shout, “Yay! Look at all the people!” I look at Kimy and she says, “Ugh, look at all the people.” That’s not a knock on my lovely wife; it’s simply a way of recognizing that we are all different. Some of us are people people and some of us are not. I love that the Kingdom of God recognizes that some of us are outgoing and that some of us are behind the scenes. I love that in the Kingdom of God there is a place for everyone! Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 12:12, “The body is one unit, though it is made of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body.” Whether you’re extroverted or introverted, like to sit with your back to the room or you like to sit in the middle of the room, you are a part of the Kingdom of God. Differences make us unique and special so today, as you leave your home, remember that different doesn’t make it wrong, it only makes it different.
